SCEPA's Annual Irene and Bernard L. Schwartz Lecture
Greg Smith, former Vice President at Goldman Sachs and author of Why I Left Goldman Sachs, will present SCEPA's annual Irene & Bernard L. Schwartz Lecture to discuss how banks behave behind the scenes and how those practices differ from the perception they convey to the public.
Smith’s controversial New York Times op-ed, which announced his resignation to the world after 12 years at the investment bank, publicly criticized the firm’s business culture and risky investments.
His lecture will be followed by a panel discussion with Marianne LeNabat, a New School student active in the Occupy Wall Street movement, and Jeff Madrick, author and financial journalist, who is a Senior Fellow with SCEPA.
